TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Terrestrial Land Mobile Radio — Antenna Systems — Standard Format for Digitized Antenna Patterns
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington, VA (April 15, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.11 Engineering Committee on Antenna Systems has issued a call for interest for document TIA-804-D titled “Terrestrial Land Mobile Radio — Antenna Systems — Standard Format for Digitized Antenna Patterns.”
This document standardizes the presentation of digitized antenna patterns for antenna systems in the terrestrial Land Mobile Radio Service. According to FCC Regulation §90.7, the Land Mobile Radio Service is defined as follows: a mobile service between base stations and land mobile stations, or between land mobile stations. This revision adds a field for noting Peak Instantaneous Power and modifies the XML based format to define antenna data using spherical coordinate system.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this project from the user and general interest communities.
Stakeholders may include but are not limited to: users and manufactures of terrestrial land mobile radios.
For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Victoria Mitchell at standards@tiaonline.org. A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. Recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee are available on TIA’s public engineering committee pages.
