TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Inter-RF Subsystem Interface – Messages and Procedures for Voice, Mobility Management, and RFSS Capability Polling Services – Addendum 3 – Interworking with an IWF

Arlington VA. (October 25, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.19 Engineering Committee on Wireline System Interfaces has issued a call for interest for document TIA-102.BACA-B-3 initially titled Inter-RF Subsystem Interface – Messages and Procedures for Voice, Mobility Management, and RFSS Capability Polling Services – Addendum 3 – Interworking with an IWF.

TR-8.19 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: “This addendum adds a normative annex to TIA-102.BACA-B to enable interworking for the services defined in phase 1 of the ATIS WTSC/TIA TR-8 Joint Land Mobile Radio to Long-Term-Evolution (JLMRLTE) architectural study of interworking between P25 LMR and 3GPP mission-critical services. In other words, it will describe how a 3GPP Inter Working Function (IWF) may act as a Home or Serving RFSS for the phase 1 interworking services of Group Registration / De-registration, Group Call (non-emergency and emergency), Announcement Group Call, and Broadcast Group Call.”

The stakeholders may include but are not limited to: manufacturers, users and providers of Project 25, Private Land Mobile Radio and 3GPP Mission Critical Communication services and equipment.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
