TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Generic Telecommunications Bonding and Grounding (Earthing) for Customer Premises

Arlington VA. (February 03, 2023) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.3 Engineering Committee on Commercial Building Telecommunications Pathways and Spaces has issued a call for interest for document TIA-607-E initially titled ” Generic Telecommunications Bonding and Grounding (Earthing) for Customer Premises”.

TR-42.3 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: requirements for a generic telecommunications bonding and grounding infrastructure and its interconnection to electrical systems and telecommunications systems. This Standard may also be used as a guide for the renovation or retrofit of existing systems. The new revision needed to: incorporate content of addendum ANSI/TIA-607-D-1 and update the document references.

Interested stakeholders may include but are not limited to building owners, architects, installers, tenants, consultants, OEMs, contractors, engineers, and MEP firms.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

For more information about TR-42 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Cheryl Thibideau at standards-process@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
