TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project and issues a Ballot for Guidelines on Shared Pathways and Shared Sheaths
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA. (December 13, 2023) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.7 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Copper Cabling Systems has issued a call for interest and ballot for document TSB-190-A initially titled “Guidelines on Shared Pathways and Shared Sheaths”.
TR-42.7 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: This TSB provides guidance and supporting data related to:
- Multiple applications operating over different cable categories or constructions sharing the same pathways
- Alien Crosstalk interference between category 6A UTP cables manufactured by different manufacturers
- Alien crosstalk interference between category 6A UTP cables and other category cables, and
Multiple applications running within the same sheath.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: IEEE, installers, customers, users of cabling systems.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
