TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project For Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations – Addendum 1
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA. (November 17, 2023) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.21 Engineering Committee on Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Intrinsic Safety (IS) Consideration has issued a call for interest for document TIA-4950-B-1 initially titled “Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations – Addendum 1”.
TR-8.21 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: This addendum implements agreements which were not ready in time during the drafting of the TIA-4950-B revision.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers of P25 equipment.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
