TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for Guidelines for Supporting Power Delivery Over Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Cabling
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (October 13, 2021) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.7 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Cooper Cabling Systems has issued a call for interest for document TSB-184-A-2 initially titled “Guidelines for Supporting Power Delivery Over Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Cabling”. TR-42.7 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: ” To provide guidelines that support a wide variety of safety extra low voltage (SELV) limited power source (LPS) applications using remote power supplied over balanced single twisted-pair cabling.”
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers, users, and installers of cables, connectors, and cabling for data networks, manufacturers, users, system integrators, and installers of data networks used for remote power delivery.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
