TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Detail Specification for Class 1a Graded-Index Multimode Optical Fibers; Modification of IEC 60793-2-10, Optical Fibers- Part 2-10: Product Specifications- Sectional Specification for Category A1 Multimode Fibers
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (December 9, 2022) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a call for interest for document TIA-492AAAF-A initially titled ” Detail Specification for Class 1a Graded-Index Multimode Optical Fibers; Modification of IEC 60793-2-10, Optical Fibers – Part 2-10: Product Specifications- Sectional Specification for Category A1 Multimode Fibers”. TR-42.12 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: ” Adoption with modifications of IEC 60793-2-10, Optical Fibers- Part 2-10: Product Specifications- Sectional Specification for Category A1 Multimode Fibers, Edition 7.1. The document contains the dimensional, mechanical, transmission and environmental requirements of A1 multimode fibers (A1-OM1, A1-OM2, A1-OM3, A1-OM4, A1-OM5 and A1d). “
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Telecom end-users, installers, designers of optical fiber cabling systems.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
