TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project For Commercial Buildings
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA. (January 24, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.1 Engineering Committee on Premises Telecommunications Infrastructure has issued a call for interest for document TIA-568.1-F initially titled “Commercial Buildings”. TR-42.1 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: This Standard specifies requirements for cabling infrastructure including cabling topology, architecture, design and installation practices, test procedures, and components. The cabling infrastructure specified by this Standard is intended to support a wide range of commercial building sites, applications (e.g., voice, data, text, video, and image), and systems particularly those that utilize or can utilize IP-based infrastructure.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: End users, customers, installers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, designers, integrators, architects, engineers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
