TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Document for Project 25 Digital Radio Over-The-Air-Rekeying (OTAR) Messages and Procedures Addendum 1

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation

Arlington, VA (February 25, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.3 engineering subcommittee on encryption has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-102.AACA-A-1 titled “Project 25 Digital Radio Over-The-Air-Rekeying (OTAR) Messages and Procedures Addendum 1.”

TIA’s TR-8.3 is developing clarifications to the key selection rules for encrypted communications when a single key radio and a multi-key radio are both engaged in the same protected call. Clarification of these key selection rules will enable stronger public safety interoperability between single key based and multi-key based public safety users.

TIA is actively seeking participation in this project from the user and general interest communities.

Stakeholders may include but are not limited to: P25 manufacturers and users.

For more information about TR- 8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact the Standards Department at standards@tiaonline.org. A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. Recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee are available on TIA’s public engineering committee pages.
