TIA Issues a Recirculation Ballot for Customer-Owned Outside Plant Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA (April 3, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.1 Engineering Committee on Premises Telecommunications Infrastructure has issued a recirculation ballot for document TIA-758-C initially titled “Customer-Owned Outside Plant Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard”.
TR-42.1 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: The purpose of this Standard is to enable the planning and installation of an outside plant structured cabling system infrastructure. This Standard establishes the recommendations and requirements used in the design of the telecommunication pathways and spaces, and the cabling installed between buildings or points in a customer-owned campus environment. Customer-owned campus facilities are typically termed “outside plant” (OSP). For this standard they are termed customer-owned OSP.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Designers; installers; building owners; building tenants.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
