TIA Issues a Recirculation Ballot for Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Communications Cabling and Components Standard for Industrial Premises
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA (April 10, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.9 Engineering Committee on Industrial Telecommunications Infrastructure has issued a recirculation ballot for document TIA-568.7 initially titled “Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Communications Cabling and Components Standard for Industrial Premises”.
TR-42.9 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: Create a standard for defining the transmission requirements for industrial cabling and components supporting single balanced twisted-pair cabling for MICE2 and MICE3 environments. Specify components that meet the transmission requirements for cabling for Industrial Premises. This Standard establishes performance and technical criteria in support of single-pair applications such as Ethernet Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Designers; installers; industrial premise owners; System integrators.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
