TIA Issues a Ballot and Public Review Notification for Low or High Temperature Bend Test for Fiber Optic Cable
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation
Arlington VA. (May 1, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a ballot and call for comments for document TIA-455-37-B initially titled “Low or High Temperature Bend Test for Fiber Optic Cable”.
TR-42.12 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: Update the test standard, i.e. updating of obsolete references, improvement of some descriptions, restructuring of some (sub)clauses, updating of the comparison with the IEC bend test method, etc.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
