TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Healthcare Facility Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (July 6, 2021) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.1 Engineering Committee on Premises Telecommunications Infrastructure has issued a call for interest for document TIA-1179-B initially titled ” Healthcare Facility Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard “. TR-42.1 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: “This Standard specifies requirements for telecommunications infrastructure for healthcare facilities (e.g. hospitals, clinics). It specifies cabling, cabling topologies, and cabling distances. Additionally, pathways and spaces (e.g. sizing and location), and ancillary requirements are addressed. Telecommunications cabling specified by this standard is intended to support a wide range of healthcare facilities and systems.”
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Cabling system designers, installers, consultants, architects, engineers; manufacturers, facilities management organizations, contractors, hospital administration.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
