TIA Announces Webinar on Fiber-to-the-Home Broadband Networks for Connecting Rural America
Arlington, VA (May 24, 2023) – The Telecommunications Industry Association — the trusted industry association for the connected world — announced a new live webinar taking place on June 20, 2023 that will feature expert speakers who will present and discuss the various network architecture options for delivering fiber optic connectivity to the home for the BEAD Program. The webinar is free to attend and can register here: https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/727/585066
About the Webinar:
Preparing for the BEAD Program: Bringing Fiber to the Home for Rural America
The BEAD Program offers one of the most significant opportunities for states and network providers to work together to make broadband for everyone a reality. This brings new challenges in determining the best path to connecting our homes, especially in rural areas. Regardless of the architecture, at the heart of every network is fiber and the goal is to get fiber all the way to the premise wherever possible. In this webinar we will explore why different environments and housing densities will necessitate different fiber access network architectures, the details and benefits of those architectures, and other considerations to address deployment challenges given a constrained fiber-skilled labor pool.
Confirmed Guest Speakers:
Craig Culwell, Director, Market Development – Network Connectivity & Cable, CommScope
Carl Meyerhoefer, Senior Vice President of Business Development, Conexon
Christopher Barnes, Senior Grants Development Consultant, Grants Office, LLC
Attendees will learn about the various fiber broadband network architectures and common environmental and population density factors that will shape the best solutions for states to connect unserved and underserved regions of the country.
