TIA Announces New Senior Leadership, Furthering its Mission to Advance Connectivity

New Hires Bring Experience from Nokia, Alcatel Lucent, Time Warner and More

Will Serve as Chief Strategy Officer, CFO, CMO and SVP Membership, and Senior VP for Government Affairs

Arlington, VA (February 1, 2017) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today announced it has added four new executives as the organization furthers its mission to advance connectivity and accelerate members’ business growth. With years of experience in business, government, and at associations, the new staff will expand TIA’s effort to help companies navigate rapidly changing technology and policy landscapes.

“The connectivity enabled by TIA members is fueling tremendous innovation for the Internet of Things (IoT), smart cities, autonomous vehicles and so much more,” said TIA Board Chair and Interim CEO David Heard. “As our member companies navigate complex technology shifts and a changing policy landscape, our organization must also evolve. Our commitment is to accelerate the industry and deliver value for members by advocating for vital business needs, driving advancements in technology and standards, and improving business networks and alignment across the connectivity supply chain.”

Joining the organization are Brenda Boehm as Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President for Technology & Products, Susan Medick as Chief Financial Officer, Susan Schramm as Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President, Membership, and Cinnamon Rogers as Senior Vice President for Government Affairs.

Heard continued, “The leadership we’ve added will ensure that TIA is fully aligned with the needs of members and the unprecedented technological advancements in the industry. These four new executives bring proven leadership, diverse experience and fresh ideas to the TIA management team. They have been in the trenches delivering results for business and government, and they understand how TIA can help drive revenue opportunities and get things done for our members.”

Boehm comes with deep industry expertise based upon her successful leadership roles with innovation-focused technology companies; from entrepreneurial startups such as Starent Networks, Tango Networks, and Cyphre to Fortune 100 leaders and service providers such as Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent, and Cisco. Her work with these companies has ranged from serving as chief executive and board officer, to launching and managing innovative product portfolios, to streamlining services and operations. Her recent focus has been transforming networks in the areas of cybersecurity, virtualization, and enabling the Internet of Things.

Medick comes to TIA with proven experience managing association finances and operations. She served over two decades as the top financial executive at the Auto Care Association, facilitating its successful acquisition and growth strategy. Medick is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) as well as Certified Public Accountant, and began her career at Grant Thornton.

Rogers brings to TIA more than 20 years of corporate, association, government and legal experience. She has held senior level government relations positions with Time Warner Inc. and Time Warner Cable, Discovery Communications, and NCTA – The Internet & Television Association. Rogers’ time in government included working on Capitol Hill for House Energy and Commerce and Senate Commerce Committee members, as well as serving as Director of Congressional Affairs for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.

Schramm has served in top sales and marketing roles for a range of innovative, high-tech companies. Most recently at Viavi Solutions, Schramm served as Vice President, Global Sales and Channel Effectiveness. She served as Head of Global Portfolio Solutions Marketing at Nokia,  Head of North American Marketing at Nokia Siemens Networks, having previously led Carrier Sales at Siemens. While in these roles, Schramm also served as an officer on the TIA board of directors, and on the board of the Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS).
