Nokia’s Deepti Arora Elected Chair of TIA’s Board of Directors
Arlington, VA (January 29, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today announced the election of Deepti Arora, Chief Quality Officer, Senior Vice President of Nokia, as Chair of the organization’s Board of Directors, six new and re-appointed Executive Committee leaders, and Directors representing two companies new to the organization’s board for 2019.
Arora, who is responsible for global quality transformation and heads quality for all products, solutions and services worldwide at Nokia is the first woman to hold the Board’s highest leadership position.
Jennifer Pentecost Sims, Chief Executive Officer, Power & Telephone Supply Co. was elected to serve as Secretary of the Board and Doug Moore, President and CEO, Fujitsu Network Communications, Inc. was elected to serve as Treasurer of the Board.
Other newly elected Executive Committee members include: Trevor Smith, Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Office of the CTO, CommScope Network Solutions; Jeff Campbell, Vice President, the Americas Global Government Affairs, Cisco Systems, Inc.; Sankaran “Ram” Ramanathan, Director of Network Systems Support, Verizon Wireless; and Mark Walker, President, Walker and Associates.
