Powering AI Progress: TIA’s Commitment to Infrastructure, Security, and Talent

At the September 4th White House AI Task Force meeting, First Lady Melania Trump laid out a bold vision for investing in AI education for America’s youth—anchored in three strategic pillars: Infrastructure & Energy, National Security, and Talent. These priorities aren’t just aspirational, they’re actionable. And at the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), we’re proud to be advancing all three.
Infrastructure & Energy
TIA’s standards are powering the digital backbone of AI. From secure, scalable networks to energy-efficient systems, our work ensures that innovation can flourish on a foundation built for national scale.
National Security
Through our SCS 9001 standard, TIA is embedding trust, resilience, and accountability across the ICT supply chain, reinforcing the integrity of the systems that support AI and critical infrastructure.
Talent
Our Broadband Nation initiative is helping cultivate the next generation of technical leaders. Because connectivity isn’t just about access, it’s about opportunity, capability, and preparing youth to thrive in the AI era.
We’re honored to have signed the White House’s AI Education Pledge, and proud that our CEO, Dave Stehlin, was in attendance to represent TIA’s commitment. As he shared in his recent post, “America’s leadership in AI won’t be defined by ambition alone—it will be built on infrastructure, protected by security, and driven by talent.”
