TIA issues New Commercial Building Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard Addendum 1: Balanced Single Twisted-pair Cabling; Cabling Requirements for Wireless Access Points Standard
Arlington, VA (March 10, 2023) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-568.1-E-1, Commercial Building Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard Addendum 1: Balanced Single Twisted-pair Cabling; Cabling Requirements for Wireless Access Points Standard.
The TIA-568.1-E-1 Addendum adds balanced single twisted-pair cabling. It also adds a requirement for 2 category 6A cables for WAPs to a requirement to harmonize with recent standards document changes.
TIA-568.1-E-1 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems, TR-42.1 Premises Telecommunications Infrastructure subcommittee.
