TIA Issues Call for Interest on a New Project for TIA-455-227-A, Adoption of IEC 61300-55:2020 Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices and Passive Components – Basic Test and Measurement Procedures – Part 3-55: Examinations and Measurements – Polarization Extinction Ratio and Keying Accuracy of Polarization Maintaining, Passive, Optical Components
Arlington VA (September 17, 2025) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a call for interest for document TIA-455-227-A, initially titled “Adoption of IEC 61300-55:2020 Fiber Optic Interconnecting Devices and Passive Components- Basic Test and Measurement Procedures- Part 3-55: Examination and Measurements- Polarization Extinction Ratio and Keying Accuracy of Polarization Maintaining, Passive, Optical Components”.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to: Telecom; manufacturers of polarization maintaining fibers, connectors, and cable assemblies; telecom product users.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
