TIA to Host Live Video Discussion on FCC Vote to Streamline 5G and Wireless Infrastructure Across America

Arlington, VA (September 20, 2018) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, will host a livestream video discussion on the importance of investing in next generation 5G networks and the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) wireless infrastructure rules, which are expected to be adopted earlier that day.
This live video will feature Jeff Marks, Nokia’s Head of Regulatory Affairs, North America, John Godfrey, Senior Vice President, Public Policy at Samsung Electronics America and TIA’s Senior Policy Counsel and Director of Government Affairs Dileep Srihari on Wednesday, September 26th from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT.
Panelists will discuss the FCC’s Wireless Infrastructure Order vote taking place earlier that day, providing their insights on how the Order will affect consumers and American businesses, and propel the U.S. forward in the global race for 5G leadership.
The Order clarifies the scope and meaning of existing regulation, establishes shot clocks for state and local approvals for the deployment of small cells, and provides guidance on streamlining state and local requirements around wireless infrastructure deployment.
