TIA Says FCC’s Record Refresh is a Key Step Toward Finalizing 5.9GHz Rules

TIA today applauded the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) unanimous vote to refresh the record regarding the 5.9GHz spectrum band. TIA CEO Scott Belcher issued the following statement:

“The Commission is doing the right thing by seeking comments in order to refresh the record on developments related to 5.9 GHz band operations.  Unlicensed use of the 5.9GHz band is important for advancing consumer services and innovation, and we are certain the FCC can achieve a win-win solution that accommodates all stakeholders. We will continue to work with the Commission and urge them to act expeditiously to finalize rules that bring certainty to the use of this spectrum.”
