TIA Flags Risks of Tariffs on Mexican Products

Arlington, VA (May 31, 2019) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today issued the following statement after President Trump announced the imposition of a 5 percent tariff on incoming Mexican goods, effective June 10.

Cinnamon Rogers, TIA’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, issued the following statement:

“We are extremely concerned about the mounting costs of tariffs for U.S. consumers and business. Tariffs on Mexican products will be disruptive to business and damaging to confidence.  We would urge the President and Congress to find a long-term, sustainable legislative solution to improve U.S. immigration policy.”
