TIA Calls on Senate to Swiftly Confirm FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s Re-Nomination

ARLINGTON, VA (September 29, 2017) –  The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today urged the Senate to confirm the re-nomination of acting Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Ajit Pai.

During his tenure to date, Chairman Pai has taken important steps toward promoting next-generation networks, closing the digital divide, making additional wireless spectrum available to keep up with exploding consumer demand, and restoring the light-touch regulatory approach that spurred hundreds of billions of dollars of investment in broadband. He has also taken important steps to improve the agency’s procedures and transparency.
