TIA Applauds Senate Action to Support U.S. Leadership in Tech Standards
Arlington, VA (July 31, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association – a standards developing organization representing trusted manufacturers of telecommunications equipment and services – released the following statement from Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Melissa Newman:
“TIA commends the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation for the actions taken today in supporting U.S. leadership in international standards. Their approval of the Promoting United States Leadership in Standards Act of 2024 emphasizes the importance of setting the ground rules for future technologies within our borders.
TIA urges the complete Senate to pass this bill, allowing startups and businesses of all sizes to have a voice in shaping the future.”
