TIA Applauds Introduction of the NIST for the Future Act

Arlington, VA (July 23, 2021) – The Telecommunications Industry Association—the trusted industry association for the connected world—today writes to state its support for the NIST for the Future Act.

“TIA applauds the bipartisan work of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology on the NIST for the Future Act. Through investments in new programs and reforms to NIST’s existing processes, this bill will allow the agency to partner with the private sector more effectively in support of U.S. standards leadership,” said TIA Vice President of Government Affairs Melissa Newman. “We hope that the bipartisan effort behind this work and the commitment to private sector leadership in the development of technical standards continues throughout the consideration of this important piece of legislation.”
