New Documentary Premieres Today: How Virtualization is Causing a Network Revolution
Arlington, Va. (April 5, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today premiered a new documentary, “The Virtualization Revolution: NFV Unleashed.” The video is the latest installment in TIA’s Network of the Future Documentary Series, and focuses on the revolution brought on by Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) as told from the perspective of technology industry leaders.
“The virtualization of the network is revolutionizing the ICT industry as it enables businesses to keep up with unprecedented demand, maintain competitive edge, and innovate quickly,” says TIA CEO, Scott Belcher. “TIA is excited to debut its latest documentary on NFV, which shows that the network transition should include software to help companies deal with increased scale at low cost. “The Virtualization Revolution: NFV Unleashed” features interviews with executives from AT&T (NYSE: T), Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HP), Red Hat (NYSE: RHT), VMware (NYSE: VMW) and others. It explores the lightning-fast changes taking place with NFV and the hurdles companies face when switching from infrastructure-heavy legacy networks to virtualized networks. In the documentary, industry experts discuss how network systems will have to be re-created to keep up with the massive demand caused by the growth in Internet traffic.
