UNDERGROUND FIBER INSTALLATION FUNDAMENTALS
Pre-Requisite: Fiber Basics
Course Length: 15 hours
Certifications Earned: Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/OSP (CFOS/O)
25% Classroom/75% field training
Focus on proofing OSP conduit and placing pull string or tape Techniques and procedures for pulling fiber cable is OSP Techniques and procedures for jetting fiber cable in OSP Reading blueprints, labeling, and producing redlines/as builds
To qualify for Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/OSP certification, a specialist training program will cover at least the following topics:
- Overview of OSP fiber optic installations
- Communications systems utilizing OSP fiber optic cable plant
- Fiber optic components appropriate for OSP networks
- Construction for OSP installations
- Installation of buried, underground and aerial cable
- Splicing and testing cables, including splice closures, OLTS and OTDR testing
- Restoration
- Lab Exercises including hands-on splicing and testing on simulated outside plant.
AERIAL FIBER INSTALLATION FUNDAMENTALS
Pre-Requisite: Fiber Basics
Course Length: 15 hours

Pole Climbing, Ladder, and Bucket Truck Certifications

25% Classroom/75% field training
Hardware identification
Tool usage
Proper pole framing IAW NESC clearances and Strand/Lash installation -
ADSS/Figure 8 fiber installation and hardware
To qualify for Certified Fiber Optic Specialist/OSP certification, a specialist training program will cover at least the following topics:

- Communications systems utilizing OSP fiber optic cable plant
