Anyone interested in working as a fiber optic technician should attend this class. This course combines the physics and science of fiber optics with instruction on optical fiber transmission, cable construction, safety codes, and industry standards. Hands-on labs include fiber termination testing and cabling.

At the conclusion of classroom instruction and the hands-on laboratory, a written exam will be administered.

This course is a prerequisite for all Advanced Fiber Optic Technician courses.
