Course Details
The Aerial Lineman Program is an Arkansas Fiber Academy program co-designed with industry partners to provide participants with an opportunity to embark on a meaningful and rewarding career in the telecommunications construction industry. Classroom and hands-on field experiences equip students with the knowledge, skills and abilities employers look for when hiring an aerial lineman to install, maintain and repair telecommunications infrastructure including:
- Working knowledge of established aerial plant installation procedures and techniques
involving the placement of fiber, cable, poles, anchors, and all ancillary components
coupled with the ability to use required installation equipment. - Adequate skills using the appropriate hand tools, equipment, and fleet required to build
successful aerial plants. - The ability to read and understand prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions
REQUIRED COURSES HOURS
- Broadband Essentials (40 hours)
- Aerial Lineman: Communications (105 hours)
