TIA Issues a Ballot and Public Review Notification for TIA-455-226-A, Adoption of IEC 61746-1:2009 Calibration of Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) – Part 1: OTDR for Single Mode Fibers

Arlington VA (October 6, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a ballot and call for comments for TIA-455-226-A, initially titled “Adoption of IEC 61746-1:2009 Calibration of Optical Time-Domain Reflectometers (OTDR) – Part 1: OTDR for Single Mode Fibers”.

TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
