TIA Issues a Ballot and Public Review Notification for TIA-5071, Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements for Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Cabling

Arlington VA (April 20, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.7 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Copper Cabling Systems has issued a ballot and call for comments for TIA-5071, initially titled “Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements for Balanced Single Twisted-Pair Cabling”.

Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Field tester manufacturers; Test equipment manufacturers; Structured cabling products manufacturers; Structured cabling installers.

TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
