TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for Impact Test Measurements for Fiber Optic Devices
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA (March 16, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a call for interest for document TIA-455-2-D initially titled ” Impact Test Measurements for Fiber Optic Devices”. TR-42.13 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: Revise TIA-455-2-C Impact Test Measurements for Fiber Optic Devices which the intent of this test procedure is to determine the ability of fiber optic component or assembly (device) to withstand impacts of the type that might be encountered in normal service.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Fiber optic manufacturers, test laboratories, telecom users.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
