TIA Issues Call for Interest in a New Project to Reaffirm Multiple Standards on Requirements for Analog Telephones with Handsets
Arlington VA (January 30, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-41 Engineering Committee on Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products has issued a call for interest to reaffirm the following documents listed below.

The TR-41 Committee on Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products has created these projects to reaffirm the standards listed above. If you are interested in reviewing the scopes of each standard, please reach out to TIA at standards-process@tiaonline.org for more information.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of these and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to Manufacturers, specifiers, and users of Terminal Equipment Manufacturers, digital telephones and other communications devices providing voice transmission, regardless of protocol or digital format. Specifiers may include retail equipment buyers, enterprise and government procurement officers, etc.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
