TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for Wireless Communications Systems — Performance in Noise- and Interference- Limited Situations —Part 0: Index & History
Arlington VA (December 17, 2025) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.18 Engineering Committee on Wireless Systems Compatibility- Interference and Coverage has issued a call for interest for document TSB-88.0, initially titled “Wireless Communications Systems- Performance in Noise- and Interference- Limited Situations- Part 0: Index & History”.
TR-8.18 is creating a new document, TSB-88.0. The TSB-88 series has grown from a single document with its initial release in January 1998 to currently five (5) documents in publication, and a sixth document (TSB-88.6) being developed. TSB-88.0 would be an overarching document providing an index to assist consumers in finding relevant material on topics of interest.
Included in TSB-88.0 is a history of document series. This will provide consumers with insight into how the design and verification of Land Mobile Radio Systems has evolved since the original release, almost 30 years ago.
Also provide a dedication to Bernie Olson. Bernie has been the most influential contributor to TSB-88. His work, both editorial and technical, has been substantial over the years. His contributions are seen in most of the material contained in TSB-88.1, .2, and .3. It is felt that his contributions to these documents should be recognized.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers, consultants, and users of Private Land Mobile Radio systems.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
