TIA Issues Call for Interest on a New Project for ANSI/TIA-455-86-B FOTP-86 Optical Fiber Cable Jacket Shrinkage
Arlington VA (December 3, 2025) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-455-86-B, initially titled “Optical Fiber Cable Jacket Shrinkage”.
TR-42.12 is revising ANSI/TIA-455-86-A, FOTP-86 Optical Fiber Cable Jacket Shrinkage, to change oven to maintain +/- 3 °C, sample can move freely on horizontal surface and shrinkage to a positive value.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to: Test laboratories, cable manufacturers, TIA TR-42.11, TIA TR-42.13, IEC SC86A, IEC SC86B.
TIA is actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
