TIA is pleased to see the reaffirmation of FCC spectrum authority and the expansion of R&D incentives in the budget bill — critical outcomes that drive innovation and enhance connectivity
Arlington, VA (July 4, 2025) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA)—the trusted industry association for the connected world—is pleased that the bill passed by congress includes critical provisions to strengthen U.S. leadership in communications technology and infrastructure. Specifically, TIA commends the bill for restoring the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) spectrum auction authority and for expanding R&D tax credits that will accelerate innovation across the ICT industry.
“The return of FCC auction authority ensures the United States remains competitive in the global race to deploy advanced communications networks,” said David Stehlin, CEO of TIA. “Equally important, enhanced R&D tax incentives will fuel the innovation engine of our industry—empowering companies to invest in next-generation products and technologies, create high-quality jobs, and building our country’s leadership in connectivity.” TIA has long advocated for policies that enable spectrum access, incentivize private sector innovation, and support the broader digital ecosystem. The organization will continue to work with Congress, the FCC, and industry stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of this bill drives measurable impact and benefits for communities across the country. |
