2. TIA’s ICT Green Report: Energy and Environmental Trends and Forecasts (contact Florence Sumaray)

An add-on to the annual ICT Market Review & Forecast, this new report, produced in collaboration with The Climate Group and its SMART2020 Report, offers ICT companies details on Climate Change in the 21st Century, Reducing ICT’s Carbon Footprint, Smart Technologies, and Green Opportunities.

3. TIA’s ICT Green Hall at the Sustainability Virtual Summits 2010 (contact Taly Walsh)

This series of three virtual events (February, May and August 2010) is a way for TIA to support members with their needs to promote their green products, services and initiatives. For very little cost and risk, members have an opportunity to join in the virtual event space in a Sustainability focused event, aimed at producing business and marketing value and obtaining leads from around the world. 4. Energy and Environment Policy (contact Danielle Coffey)

TIA's energy and environment policy program runs a sustained advocacy campaign with key government officials asserting the role of the ICT industry in achieving national green goals through improving energy efficiency and decreasing carbon emissions.

From climate and energy legislation to smart grid funding and implementation, the Energy & Environment Working Group (EEWG) advocates policies that maximize the green impact of the ICT industry without hampering innovation. The EEWG provides opportunities for TIA member companies to highlight to policymakers in the Congress and the Administration how ICT equipment significantly decreases carbon emissions in other more energy intensive sectors as well as what actions companies are taking to decrease carbon emissions from the ICT sector.

5. Energy and Environment Standards (contact Cheryl Blum)

Find out more about the following:

• New standards initiatives relating to Smart Grid, Smart Devices and Cloud Computing are being launched by TIA standards leaders.
• TIA publishes the leading standard for data centers, which include green design for energy efficiency and HVAC design.
• TIA’s energy efficient tower standards for wind turbines.
• TIA is a founding member of the Green Building Technology Alliance, which is developing innovation technology credits for the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for structured cabling.
• TIA publishes the standards for building wiring (including campuses and other facilities), which includes green design.
• TIA publishes standards that improve battery efficiency and has published numerous standards increasing the overall efficiency of networks, both wired and wireless, permitting service providers and businesses to do more with less.
• TIA supports NIST efforts for SMART Grids and participated in a NIST-hosted Standards Developing Organization Workshop.
