TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for IEC 61755-2-4 -Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components – Connector optical interfaces – Part 2-4: Connection parameters of non-dispersion shifted single-mode physically contacting fibres – Non-angled for reference connection applications
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (March 24, 2022) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a call for interest for document TIA-622.4 initially titled ” IEC 61755-2-4 -Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components – Connector optical interfaces – Part 2-4: Connection parameters of non-dispersion shifted single-mode physically contacting fibres – Non-angled for reference connection applications”. TR-42.13 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: ” Adoption of IEC 61755-2-4 -Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components – Connector optical interfaces – Part 2-4: Connection parameters of non-dispersion shifted single-mode physically contacting fibres – Non-angled for reference connection applications as ANSI/TIA 622.4”.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Telecom and Data Communications, Fiber Optics users and manufacturers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
For more information about TR-42 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Cheryl Thibideau at standards-process@tiaonline.org.
A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee.
