Your Path to DCE 9000 Certification
DCE 9000 certification demonstrates that your organization has implemented a quality management system specifically designed for the unique performance, reliability, and supply chain requirements of modern data center infrastructure.
Developed by TIA with industry leaders across the data center ecosystem, DCE 9000 establishes a common framework for evaluating, managing, and continually improving supplier quality. Certification provides independent verification that an organization meets the requirements of the DCE 9000 standard and is committed to delivering consistent, reliable outcomes in support of critical digital infrastructure.
Whether you are beginning your DCE 9000 implementation journey or preparing for certification, the process follows a structured path designed to help organizations achieve and maintain conformance.
Who Should Pursue DCE 9000 Certification?
DCE 9000 is designed for organizations that provide products, services, or solutions that support modern data center infrastructure.
Initial focus areas include manufacturers and suppliers of:
- Electrical infrastructure equipment
- Mechanical infrastructure equipment
- Cooling infrastructure equipment
Future versions may expand to include additional infrastructure-related services and disciplines.
Certification Process
Six step process for achieving and maintaining data center excellence certification
Begin by understanding the requirements of DCE 9000 and how they apply to your organization.
Recommended resources include:
- DCE 9000 Requirements Handbook
- DCE 9000 Measurements Handbook
- Authorized Training
- Optional consulting support
Create your organization’s profile in the TIA QuEST Forum Registration Management System (RMS).
Registration begins TIA’s review process and establishes your certification record.
Choose an authorized DCE 9000 Certification Body (CB) to guide your certification process.
Your Certification Body will:
- Define the audit scope
- Determine certification parameters
- Plan the audit schedule
- Conduct certification assessments
- Verify conformity to DCE 9000 requirements
All DCE 9000 Certification Bodies are accredited through TIA’s certification framework and employ qualified auditors who meet rigorous competency requirements.
Evaluate your current processes against the requirements of DCE 9000.
Preparation activities typically include:
- Conducting a gap analysis
- Implementing required processes and controls
- Addressing identified gaps
- Training employees
- Performing internal audits
- Completing management reviews
- Collecting and validating required measurements
The objective is to ensure that your quality management system is fully implemented and operating effectively before the certification audit.
Your Certification Body will conduct an independent assessment to verify conformity with DCE 9000 requirements.
The audit evaluates the effectiveness of your quality management system and confirms that required processes, controls, and measurements have been implemented.
If nonconformities are identified, corrective actions must be completed before certification can be granted.
Upon successful completion of the audit, the Certification Body approves your certification and updates your registration within the TIA Registration Management System.
Your organization is then officially recognized as a DCE 9000 Certified Organization.
Certification is an ongoing commitment to quality and continual improvement.
Organizations maintain certification through:
- Annual surveillance audits
- Measurement reporting
- Performance benchmarking
- Continual improvement activities
- Management reviews
- Periodic recertification audits
These activities help ensure continued conformance and support improved quality, reliability, and supply chain performance over time.
Program Fees
Organizations pursuing DCE 9000 certification should plan for:
- TIA Registration Administration Fee (non-QuEST Forum participants only)
- Training and implementation costs (as applicable)
- Certification Body audit fees
