TIA Issues Call for Interest on a New Project for Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements for Balanced Twisted-Pair Cabling
Arlington VA (June 30, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.7 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Copper Cabling Systems has issued a call for interest to reaffirm document ANSI/TIA-1152-A, initially titled “Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements for Balanced Twisted-Pair Cabling”.
TR-42.7 is reaffirming this document, ANSI/TIA-1152-2009 as determined in TIA TR-42.7, incorporating new specifications and other information as required to support field testing of cabling described in ANSI/TIA-568-C.2-1.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to: Field tester manufacturers; Test equipment manufacturers; Structured cabling products manufacturers; Structured cabling installers.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
