TIA Issues Call for Interest for New ANSI Projects on Optical Fibers and Cables
Arlington VA. (September 12, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a call for interest for the documents listed below.
- TIA-455-33-B FOTP-33 Optical Fiber Cable Tensile Loading and Bending Test
- TIA-455-41-A FOTP-41 Compressive Loading Resistance of Optical Fiber Cables
- TIA-455-88 FOTP-88 Fiber Optic Cable Bend Test
- TIA-455-89-B FOTP-89 Optical Fiber Cable Jacket Elongation and Tensile Strength
- TIA-455-91 FOTP-91 Fiber Optic Cable Twist-Bend Test
- TIA-455-85-A FOTP 85 Fiber Optic Cable Twist Test
- TIA-455-87-B FOTP-87 Fiber Optic Cable Knot Test
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of these and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to manufacturing and end users of optical fiber.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
