TIA Issues a Ballot to Reaffirm FOTP-104 Fiber Optic Cable Cyclic Flexing Test
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (March 21, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a ballot to reaffirm document TIA-455-104-B initially titled “FOTP-104 Fiber Optic Cable Cyclic Flexing Test”.
TR-42.12 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: This revision updates references and editorial items including a comparison between the IEC and TIA methods and a clarification on mandrel diameter as it relates to cable diameter. The last update to references was in 1993.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Cable designers, cable manufacturers, connectivity designers.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
