TIA Issues a Ballot and Public Review Notification to Reaffirm TIA-455-244-A, Methods for Measuring the Change in Transmittance of Optical Fibers in Expressed Buffer Tubes When Subjected to Temperature Cycling Revision
Arlington VA (September 25, 2024) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a ballot and call for comments to reaffirm document, ANSI/TIA-455-244-A, initially titled “Methods for Measuring the Change in Transmittance of Optical Fibers in Expressed Buffer Tubes When Subjected to Temperature Cycling Revision.
Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include but are not limited to users of optical fiber such as optical fiber cable manufacturers and their customers, optical fiber transmission and test equipment manufacturers, specifiers of optical fiber and cable such as telecommunications companies and standards bodies that define transmission protocols.
TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
