TIA Issues a Ballot and Public Review Notification for TIA-455-91-A, FOTP-91 Fiber Optic Cable Twist-Bend Test

Arlington VA (May 14, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a ballot and call for comments for TIA-455-91-A, initially titled “FOTP-91 Fiber Optic Cable Twist-Bend Test”.

Stakeholders are invited to contact TIA regarding participation in the development of this and other TIA standards. The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturing and end users of optical fiber.

TIA is seeking broad input as per the public review announcement in ANSI’s Standards Action for directly and materially affected parties. In addition, we are actively seeking participation in this process from the user and general interest communities.
