Redesigned digital experience brings together standards, policy, certifications and industry programs while highlighting the critical infrastructure priorities shaping the digital economy
Arlington, VA (November 3, 2026) – The Telecommunications Industry Association — enabling the future of trusted digital infrastructure — today launched a redesigned website that reflects the organization’s expanded role in advancing the trusted digital infrastructure underpinning today’s increasingly connected world.
The new TIAonline.org provides a more integrated view of how TIA brings industry and government together through standards development, policy and advocacy, certifications, and industry programs to advance secure, reliable, interoperable and resilient digital infrastructure.
As AI, cloud computing, connected technologies and digital services accelerate demand for infrastructure, the systems supporting the digital economy are becoming increasingly interconnected and complex. TIA’s new website is designed to make it easier for industry leaders, policymakers, technology professionals and other stakeholders to understand how TIA addresses these challenges and how they can participate.
“Digital infrastructure is foundational to virtually every aspect of the modern economy, and the pace of change is accelerating. TIA brings together the expertise of industry and government to address the challenges that come with that transformation—from establishing technical standards and advancing sound public policy to providing independent assurance and convening the experts who are shaping the infrastructure of the future. Our new website better reflects that role and makes it easier for stakeholders to engage with the work of TIA.” Dave Stehlin, CEO, TIA
A Clearer View of TIA’s Work
The new website organizes TIA’s work around four core areas:
- Standards Development — TIA brings industry experts together to develop technical and operational frameworks that support secure, interoperable and high-performing digital infrastructure. Its standards span networks, data centers, telecommunications infrastructure, supply chains and other connected technologies.
- Policy and Advocacy — TIA translates industry expertise into policy action, working with government, regulators, industry partners and members to advance policies that strengthen security, expand connectivity, encourage investment and support resilient digital infrastructure.
- Certifications — TIA’s certification programs provide independent assurance that organizations meet trusted standards for quality, security, resilience and operational excellence. The portfolio includes TIA-942, TL 9000 and SCS 9001, as well as the forthcoming DCE 9000 data center quality standard.
- Industry Programs — TIA convenes collaborative industry communities to address shared challenges, accelerate adoption of emerging technologies and advance digital infrastructure. Programs span areas including emerging technologies, workforce development and global connectivity.
Focused on the Challenges Shaping Digital Infrastructure
The website also highlights four areas where TIA sees critical needs and opportunities across the digital infrastructure ecosystem:
- Data Center Infrastructure — advancing standards, certification programs and quality frameworks to help organizations design, build and operate resilient, high-performing infrastructure as demand for data center capacity grows.
- Quality Management — promoting consistent processes and proven quality practices that improve reliability, reduce risk and drive operational excellence across the technology supply chain.
- Supply Chain Security — addressing cybersecurity threats, regulatory requirements and increasing supply chain complexity through standards and frameworks that promote secure-by-design practices, transparency and trust.
- Workforce Development — connecting industry, education and workforce initiatives to expand career pathways and build the talent pipeline needed to support digital infrastructure growth.
Together, these focus areas reflect the growing need to consider digital infrastructure not simply as individual technologies or networks, but as an interconnected ecosystem requiring quality, security, resilience and skilled talent.
Bringing Industry Expertise to Action
TIA’s member-driven model remains central to this work. The organization brings together more than 400 global members and participants, while its standards activities engage more than 1,000 volunteers across more than 20 countries. Those experts contribute to standards and best practices that help industry and government build trusted systems at scale.
The new website makes these opportunities for engagement more visible, with pathways for companies and individuals to participate in TIA’s standards committees, Technical Advisory Groups, QuEST Forum, policy activities and other industry communities.
The website will also serve as an evolving resource for TIA’s standards, policy developments, certifications, industry initiatives, news, insights and opportunities to engage with the organization.
